Remembering Kindra

Celebrating the life of Kindra Nelson

It is with mixed feelings of grief and gratitude that we say good-bye to Kindra Lynn Nelson, born January 11, 1981, and passed from this world on the evening of July 29, 2021. While we are deeply grieved that she will no longer be with us to brighten our world, we will forever be deeply grateful for the forty years we were privileged to share with her and enjoy her love, compassion, zest for life, adventurous spirit, and endless energy.

Kindra is survived by her life-partner, Karen Waldack; her mother, Patricia Dissmore-Nyien of Westmont, IL; her stepfather, Harvey Nyien of Westmont, IL; her father, Phillip Nelson, of Chicago, Il; her stepmother, Josephina Rodriguez-Nelson, of Chicago, IL; her two brothers, Philip Kirk Nelson, of San Diego, CA; Kevin Nelson, of Chicago, IL; and her sister-in-law, Sarah Nelson-Trieglaff, of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and countless friends.

During her forty years on earth Kindra deeply touched an unlimited number of people with her commitment to her family and friends and her dedicated service as a nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago. We covet your thoughts and prayers at this time.
